Molecules\Annexin V:
Annexin V (Lipocortin V, Endonexin II, Calphobindin I, Placental anticoagulant protein I, Thromboplastin inhibitor, Vascular anticoagulant alpha, Anchorin CII)
Annexin belongs to calcium-dependent phospholipid-binding protein family. All annexins have been shown to have a putative binding site for protein kinases C, but only annexin V possesses a potential pseudo-substrate site. Annexin V was found to play a major role in matrix vesicle-initiated cartilage calcification as a collage-regulated calcium channel.
