LIGHT

LIGHT (29 kDa), type II transmembrane protein, is a member of the tumor necrosis factor (TNF) superfamily. A soluble, active form of LIGHT has been described, which transduces costimulatory signals into human T-cells. It has been shown that LIGHT stimulates IFN gamma-mediated intercellular adhesion molecule–1 (ICAM-1) upregulation of cancer cells. LIGHT is required for dendritic cell-mediated allogenic T-cell response.
