Transferrin
Transferrin (around 80 kDa) is a blood plasma protein for iron ion delivery. It is a glycoprotein, which binds iron very tighly but reversibly. Transferrin is associated with the immune system. It is found in the mucosa. A deficiency is associated with atransferrinemia.
