Product details
Introduction to the Molecule
Human growth hormone (hGH) is the product of the GH-1 gene located on chromosome 17 and expressed in pituitary cells. Bioactivity of GH is regulated by a specific binding protein formed by the extra cellular part of the cellular transmembran GH-receptor. In children and adolescent the hGH system is the main regulator of growth. It has a lipolytic effect too. GH deficiency shows disease pattern, equivalent to advanced aging.
Research topic
Growth hormone and factor-related products
Description
GH Human Recombinant produced in E.coli is a single, non-glycosylated, polypeptide chain containing 192 amino acids and having a molecular mass of 22260.01 Dalton. Growth Hormone is purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.
Amino Acid Sequence
The sequence of the first five N-terminal amino acids was determined and was found to be Met-Phe-Pro-Thr-Ile.
Source
E. coli
Purity
Greater than 98.0% as determined by(a) Analysis by RP-HPLC. (b) Analysis by SDS-PAGE.
Biological Activity
BioVendor’s GH is contains 3 units/mg.
Formulation
The GH (1 mg/ml) was lyophilized after extensive dialyses against 8 mg mannitol and 0.34 mg sodium phosphate buffer (0.02 mg sodium phosphate monobasic & 0.32 mg sodium phosphate dibasic).
Storage, Stability/Shelf Life
Lyophilized GH although stable at room temperature for 3 weeks, should be stored desiccated below –18°C. Upon reconstitution HGH should be stored at 4°C between 2–7 days and for future use below –18°C. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA). Please prevent freeze-thaw cycles.
Physical Appearance
Sterile filtered White lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder.
