Product details
Introduction to the Molecule
MMP-13 is a member of the matrix metralloproteinases family with broad substrate specificity and a potential role in tumor metastasis and invasion. MMP-13 was originally identified in breast carcinomas. Further studies revealed that this enzyme is produced by a variety of malignant tumors. It is a major player in the disease condition of rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis.

Description
Matrix Metalloproteinase-13 Human Recombinant produced in E.coli is a single, non-glycosylated, polypeptide chain having a molecular mass of 27 kDa. The Collagenase 3 is purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.
Source
E. coli
Purity
Greater than 90% as determined by SDS-PAGE
Biological Activity
Activity is determined by the cleavage of fluorogenic peptide, 100 ng of enzyme activated with APMA will digest 75–80% (1.5–1.6 nmole) of fluorogenic peptide substrate (0.1 ml of 20 µM solution) at 35°C for 30 minutes.
Formulation
The protein Solution (100 µg/ml) in 0.05 M Tris-HCl buffer, pH 7.6, containing 0.2 M NaCl, 5 mM CaCl2, 20 µM ZnSO4 and 0.1% BSA and NaN3.
Storage, Stability/Shelf Life
MMP-13 although stable at 4°C for 1 week, should be stored desiccated below –18°C. Please prevent freeze-thaw cycles.
Physical Appearance
Sterile filtered clear solution.
