ADDIT-CE NeuroConnect Meetup kicked off dialogue and new projects

15955

NeuroConnect Meetup in Brno brought together scientists, clinicians and innovators and opened up new opportunities for collaboration in research on neurodegenerative diseases.

How do you capture attention in 120 seconds? 20 speakers, vibrant energy and inspiration! NeuroConnect connected experts, sparked dialogue and opened up new opportunities in research on neurodegenerative diseases.

When ideas come together with the courage to talk across disciplines and a genuine desire to collaborate, something exceptional happens. This was exactly the atmosphere on 27 November at BioVendor Group in Brno, where the NeuroConnect Meetup took place – an event that stood out thanks to its unusual format, energy and openness.

In the spotlight: An original concept that sparked discussion

Participants were in for a truly unconventional programme. Instead of long expert lectures, 20 speakers had just 120 seconds each to present their projects, needs, challenges or collaboration offers. Short, dynamic and straight to the point.

This format was not chosen just for effect – it had one main purpose: to connect people who often pass each other by, even though they are dealing with similar problems.

For one evening, scientists, clinicians, technology innovators, companies and practitioners met in a single space. They talked to each other, shared ideas, discovered who is working on what and looked for new ways to jointly move forward research, diagnostics and care in Alzheimer’s disease and other neurodegenerative disorders.

The entire event was moderated by the excellent Radka Martínková, who brought pace, humour and a clear structure to the evening. Thanks to her, the two-minute presentations flowed smoothly, networking felt natural and the atmosphere remained light, open and very friendly throughout.

Why do we actually meet?

Because neurodegenerative diseases are a challenge for all of us. The number of people with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia keeps growing – globally it already exceeds 55 million. These conditions change the lives of patients and their families, and we are still searching for more effective tools to stop them.

The ADDIT-CE* project connects scientists and experts from many countries and disciplines with a clear goal: to develop new diagnostic methods that are faster, more accurate and more accessible in everyday clinical practice.

A thank you that deserves to be heard

Special thanks for the excellent organisation go above all to Monika Petraninová and Andrea Uhrinová from MultiplexDX – their commitment, overview and energy were key to making the event a success. Our strong appreciation also goes to our project partner CEITEC-MUNI, whose involvement was essential for the meetup’s strong interdisciplinary reach.

What comes next?

Participants left the evening with new contacts, ideas and often a completely new perspective on what others are working on. And that was exactly the point – to connect, to find common directions and to inspire each other.

We are pleased to share that the next NeuroConnect Meetup will take place in October 2026. If it has the same energy as this year’s edition, there is definitely a lot to look forward to!
