Type

Recombinant protein

Description

Fibronectin Human Recombinant produced in E. coli is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 574 amino acids and having a molecular mass of 62.6kDa. The Fibronectin is purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.

Fibronectin is useful for the induction of cell attachment to a variety of surfaces including plastic and glass tissue culture labware, petri dishes, coverslips, microcarrier beads, etc. Fibronectin is useful for growth and maintenance of cells in low serum conditions. In general, the reconstituted fibronectin should be diluted with sterile physiological saline or serum-free medium to a concentration of 10-50ug/ml.

Source

E. coli

Purity

Greater than 95.0%

Formulation

Lyophilized from a 0.2μm filtered concentrated solution in 20 mM Tris-HCl, pH 8.0, 150 mM NaCl, with 5 % Trehalose and 0.02 % Tween-20.

Reconstitution

It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized Fribronectin in sterile 18MΩ-cm H2O not less than 100µg/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.

Summary

Fibronectin is an ubiquitous extracellular glycoprotein that exists in a soluble form in body fluids and in an insoluble form in the extracellular matrix. It plays a major role in many important physiological processes, such as embryogenesis, wound healing, hemostasis and thrombosis. Fibronectin is secreted as a dimer with a monomer molecular weight of 220–250 kDa. It is synthesized by, and present around, fibroblasts, endothelial cells, chondrocytes, glial cells, and myocytes. Fibronectin´s importance during cancer progression has further been shown. It represents an active element in the process of T cell activation in the immune cascade triggered by organ transplantation.
